Post balun support for Windon
So, evil bay provides me with a 4:1 balun for the middle of my planned windom, but there are some stumbling blocks.

there is no way to attach the balun to a pole, and call me Mr Paraniod, but just tieing the wires off to the bolts & wingnuts looks a little flimsy.....

so Worzel Gummage thinking head on!!

here's the balun as it arrived

Image

front off and resting on a nice sheet of polypropylene (yes its a cutting board... £1 from the cheapo shop)

Image

cut the board in 4 with a jig saw to get a double thickness.

one wee thing.... as you cut with a jigsaw it heats up, so the polyprop heals up again behind the blade, but at least it snaps along the line!!

now, holes.....

2 above and two below for the U bolts which will hold it to the pole, and two under the wingnuts. My idea is that the two layers of polyprop will act like the cord grip in a plug and take all the tension off the balun case......
