Post Ocf dipole or efhw ?
I'm about to change my efhw which is abt 63ft long sloper to be able to cope with a bit more power BUT I'm wondering if I'd benefit from an ocf dipole of similar length in an inverted V config ??
The centre point is around 30ft high and it slopes down to abt 8ft either side ...

Any info appreciated especially if you've done this yourself ?

Cheers Ricky

Ricky, I have a centre-fed inverted V doublet approx. 50 Metres long, fed with 450 Ohm ladder line via a balanced ATU. The ATU is a high power unit, and will handle 1KW no problem. It works well on all HF bands + 6M & 4M.
It's one of the oldest antenna designs, and one of the simplest antennas to make. Length is not critical at all, and the feed-point can be off-centre if it's more convenient.
The biggest expense is the ATU if you don't already own one, but it's a once in a lifetime purchase. The MFJ balanced ATUs are very good, and sometimes appear for sale on here.

Ricky.

I made my 49:1 with 3 cores and it handles 1kw no bother, but with ltd space here its all I can get up, i can not have a centre feed point until sky hooks are made, so I am sot of stuck.

Good luck, if you build it it will work and if you use proper stuff…… job done mate.

Bob.
