http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/171973983532Cant find a manual so Im slightly suspicious of trying to second guess the SMD parts placement! Still looks like cheap fun though. D

Re: Anyone had fun making one of these?
Got no chance here, damn fool.... thinks the Isle of Wight is offshore somewhere, and we have to suffer a Portsmouth postcode.
Could always get my boss to collect one for me, next time he is there.

Re: Anyone had fun making one of these?
Looks like a case of 'pointless SMT'. Plenty of room in that bottom left corner for 'normal' components. The rest of the board looks like a Howes kit. The difference being that Mr Howes supplied instructions such that an amateur chimpanzee - or even I - could assemble it. Better hope that the heatsink is included ... you'll need it

And don't you just love Chinglish phrases like this one "When do transmitter, recommended output not exceeding 30W, this index will be very good." Why don't these Chinese suppliers get someone with a command of English to write their ads for them, or would it affect their margins too much?

I'm a Technical Author, but while I am on the dole, I am keeping the wolf from the door by editing Chinglish and Hinglish stuff into native Ingerlish online Schtumm.....

Soooo! you should be contacting sellers such as this guy and offering your services as a Technical author/ Chinglish interpreter - there is probably much money to be made in that field, as long as you don't mind being paid in Yen, (or you might be able to negotiate to be paid in Baofengs)

Re: Anyone had fun making one of these?
Chinglish or no, even a component value table would be good...but thats only sent out after payment. Hmmm, yeah.
The thing looks cheap enough to take a punt, but not without a circuit I think. Interestingly, the designer, "ZGJ" or whatever it says, has also designed a 180watt version for 5 watt input.

Re: Anyone had fun making one of these?
I have three.
There are two versions, the one in your link is the newer version.
The only thing you need is the correct circuit diagram. There are some parallel resistors on the FETs on the newer version.
They do as they say supply used 1971s, but they are in fact available if you don't already have some, though the ones supplied seem OK.
They need VERY little drive, so you will need resistors for an attenuator.
They also definitely need a set of low pass filters on the output.
Not the best quality, but usable and excellent value for the price.

Nah, just a bit of pin money. There are a lot of people out East who pretend to be English and do it for pennies. That's about the only good thing about the new 'Universal Credit' ... you are allowed to do a little bit 'on the side' - but not much - without having to skulk about or fear the chop.

Re: Anyone had fun making one of these?
Bought a number of bits and pieces from Bang Good, and circuits, manual are all downloadable from their web site. Thats the case here, although it is all in Chinglish but the circuit diagrams and component lists are there.
Bang good seem to supply good well made PCB's ,and component quality is reasonable and better than other stuff in kits that I have bought from China on Ebay and then had to replace to get the kit going.
Delivery has been relatively quick also. At £11 its worth a punt.
Component tester and analyser from Bang Good was recommended in CQ magazine and works like a charm. Good value.
Good luck - these Chinese kits are always a punt.
73's,
Phil
