Post DX-WIRE Ultralight UL From sota beams
Has anyone used any of the sota beams wire DX-WIRE Ultralight UL

I am looking to put up a length of wire about 120 metres long across a field at about 12m high between a tree at the far end and a fixed mast my end .

So I’m looking for some thin wire with re inforcment inside …..thinner the better .

The sota beam link is this one .

I used it for a horizontal 80m loop and found it to be superb.

Mechanically it was strong enough to apply enough pull to take out any sag over the length, the corners were supported with some bungie cord to allow it to move about a little. I had this up at my previous QTH for over 2 years, and when I took it down to move house the wire was pretty much still like new despite the coastal location. The DX Engineering 4:1 Balun was in much worse shape.

Only odd thing I ever noticed about this wire was that it would attract all the seeds that float on the breeze in the summer and end up looking fuzzy / hairy.

After taking it down I wound it back onto the original spool. Having looked it out recently I actually questioned whether it was new unused or the old used stuff as it's in such good condition.

TL;DR I don't think you'll be disappointed with it.

Ok thanks for the reply and the information….sounds like it could be suitable …just need access to the field now to the rear of my QTH
